Rev. Emau S. “Pete” Petaia comes from a long line of ministers and missionaries.  After receiving his business degrees from Honolulu Business College and East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University-Commerce) in 1974, Petaia went on to become an accomplished accountant for several corporations and engineering firms in Los Angeles, CA., and Dallas, Texas, areas.

Receiving his calling to serve the Lord in 1975, Petaia left for Malua Theological College in Samoa and in 1978 he fulfilled his academic requirements leaving with a Diploma of Theology & Mission and met and married his wife, Mrs. Si’alei Petaia, of nor thirty years.  In 1979, Petaia was ordained a pastor in the Congregational Christian Church in Samoa (CCCAS) as well as the United Church of Christ.  From 1979-1992 Rev. Petaia served as a pastor for the CCCAS Seattle II in Seattle, Washington.  Rev. Petaia received his Masters of Divinity from Northwest Theological Union [Seattle Graduate School of Theology] on May 1989.  From 1982-1996 he led as pastor for the CCCAS Fort Lewis, Washington, before being appointed the National CCCAS General Secretary position in American Samoa.  Presently, Rev. Petaia serves as the pastor of the CCCAS Leone Church since April 2002.  Emau and Si’alei have been blessed with a son and two daughters.  He enjoys the great outdoors and writing.
